P0140 A trial court's determination that a settlement was made in good faith affects alleged tortfeasors and their insurers as well as actual tortfeasors and prevents a party who would have been named in an action by the injured plaintiff if its carrier had not settled with plaintiff for policy limits from recovering equitable indemnity from parties whose subsequent settlement with the injured plaintiff was found to be in good faith.
