3455 No product liability cause of action against a manufacturer of tobacco products may be based on conduct that occurred during the period when statutory immunity was in effect, regardless of when users of the products sustained or discovered injuries as a result of that conduct, but immunity does not apply to conduct falling outside that period, or to an action based on the adulteration of tobacco products with additives designed to make substances naturally occurring in tobacco more readily absorbed into the bodies of smokers.
