3930 A bank that receives a wire transfer identifying an account by name and number has no duty to confirm that the name on the account bearing the specified number is the same as the name on the transfer, unless bank employees handling the transaction have actual knowledge that the name on the account bears no resemblance to, and has nothing in common with, the name in the transfer.
