4090 Domestic partners registered under the Domestic Partner Act (Family Code section 297 et seq.) are protected by the Unruh Act (Civil Code section 51) to the same extent as marriage partners, since the Unruh Act does not prohibit discrimination based on marital status, distinctions between married couples and unmarried couples not registered as domestic partners do not violate the Act if supported by legitimate business reasons.
