4458 California has an explicit public policy requiring employers to provide a safe and secure workplace, and to take reasonable steps to address credible threats of violence to employees in the workplace; allegations that plaintiff was terminated for reporting a threat of workplace violence to his employer and then reporting an attempted workplace assault on him to the police supports an action for wrongful termination in violation of public policy.
