CODE OF CIVIL PROCEDURE SECTION 664.6

CCP 664.6 provides that if parties to litigation stipulate, in writing or orally before the court, for settlement of the case, the court, upon motion, may enter judgment pursuant to the terms of the settlement. In 1995, in LEVY v SUPERIOR COURT, the California Supreme Court held that the section does not apply to a written stipulation unless it was personally signed by the litigants themselves.
